Count Arthur Strong to present a one-man Christmas Carol

Dickens show to tour this winter

If it’s good enough for Eddie Izzard, it’s good enough for Count Arthur Strong

The chaotic thespian is to present his own one-man version of a Charles Dickens classic – A Christmas Carol – on tour this winter.

The longstanding alter-ego of Steve Delaney is to take his production of the festive morality tale on tour for 17 nights, kicking off at the Liverpool Playhouse on November 9.

The run – which ends with two nights at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London on December 7 and 8 – comes on the back of the ‘first leg’ of Count Arthur’s farewell tour, And It's Goodnight From Him, which begins in Derby tonight.

In typically jumbled style, the blurb for the Christmas Carol show reads: ‘Due to public pressure, Count Arthur Strong extends his fond farewell to you, for a "once in a lifetime" limited run. As he takes on, one of the literary greats, the famous Charles Dickens, and then goes on to present his one-man interpretation of A Christmas Carol.’

And the words of Count Arthur: ‘If you miss it, you weren’t there.’

Tickets for the new show go on general sale at 10am on Friday
