Jim Smith hosts two broadcast comedy showcases
Jim Smith is to host a new stand-up showcase for BBC Scotland – and a new character comedy show for Radio 4.
The farmer and comedian will introduce Susie McCabe, Jamie MacDonald, Stuart McPherson and Marjolein Robertson on Scotland Stands Up, which will be broadcast over Christmas.
It will be recorded in front of an audience at Church Hill Theatre in Edinburgh next Tuesday, and free tickets are available from the BBC website.
Exactly one week later Smith, who is still a working farmer in Perthshire, will tape Can You Hear Me Now?, character pilot, at Oran Mor in Glasgow.
That will feature stand and online comic Eleanor Morton, middle-class rapper MC Hammersmith, Funny Women winner Lorna Rose Treen and Michael Fry from Irish TV sketch show No Worries If Not!
It is being produced by Scottish-based Gusman, headed by comedy writer and producer Gus Beattie which has also made Fags, Mags And Bags and Athena’s Cancel Culture for Radio 4.
Tickets for this are available from tickets@gusman.co.uk
