Paul Whitehouse announces fishing book tour
UPDATE: THIS TOUR WAS CANCELLED ABOUT A MONTH AFTER THIS ANNOUNCEMENT
Paul Whitehouse is to go on tour, talking about fishing.
The comedian has just written a book about the joys of his favourite pastime with fishing writer John Bailey.
And to coincide with the publication of How We Fish: The Love, Life And Joy Of The Riverbank tomorrow, the pair will announce a series of dates in early November.
Producers say: ‘Join the two fishermen as they come together to celebrate the rich tapestry that is fishing – from mentors to memories; from philosophy to modern jargon; from watercraft to becoming self-styled "Fishing Detectives".’
Whitehouse and his TV angling colleague Bob Mortimer previously wrote a tie-in book for their BBC Two hit Gone Fishing, which has just returned for a sixth series.
Mortimer has also written the foreword to the new book. Publishers Mudlark say: ‘How We Fish is the perfect tome for the veteran fisherman or the budding angler – warm, funny and rich in the wonders of the riverbank’.
Bailey has been the fishing consultant on Gone Fishing since it first aired in 2018,
Tickets for the tour – which go on sale on Friday – also include a copy of the book and are priced accordingly.
How We Fish is available at Amazon, priced £15, or bookshop.org for £20.90, below, which helps support independent bookshops.
