Dreaming Whilst Black heads to the US

New audience for Adjani Salmon’s comedy

Adjani Salmon’s BBC comedy Dreaming Whilst Black is to air in the US.

Premium cable company Showtime and streaming service  Paramount+  will air the show from next month.

The series, which launched on BBC Three last week, was co-created, co-written by and stars Salmon as an aspiring film-maker Stuck in a Rut as he tries to achieve his dreams.

It also stars Dani Moseley, Demmy Ladipo, Rachel Adedeji, Babirye Bukilwa, Alexander Owen and Will Hislop also star.

The series launches in the US with a double episode on Paramount + on September 8 and two days later on Showtime.

American networks have increasingly been looking to import shows as the effects of the writers’ and actors’ strikes begin to bite. The CBS network recently snapped up the rights to the original Ghosts for a primetime slot, while its remake is between seasons.
