Josh Pugh to release a streaming special

800 Pound Gorilla Media records a hometown gig

Josh Pugh’s latest stand-up hour is to be released as a streaming special.

American label 800 Pound Gorilla Media recorded a hometown gig at Birmingham Town Hall, which will be distributed free on YouTube from next month.

The show covers two years of the comedian’s life in which he was trying to have a baby – and accidentally lost Captain Tom’s birthday cards.

Originally called Sausage, Egg, Josh Pugh, Chips and Beans, it earned him a best show nomination at last year’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards.  Pugh, who was named English Comedian of the Year in 2016, has also amassed more than 10 million views on his Twitter and TikTok videos.

He will set off on his second tour of UK and Ireland in 2024, although those dates have not yet been announced.

Josh Pugh: Live at Birmingham Town Hall will be available, on July 23 on 800 Pound Gorilla Media’s YouTube channel.

The company has recently released stand-up specials from the likes of Stuart Goldsmith, Stuart Laws and Randy Feltface  with upcoming releases from Sean McLoughlin, Helen Bauer and Huge Davies.
