Lenny Rush joins Doctor Who

Major role for Am I Being Unreasonable? star

Am I Being Unreasonable? breakout star Lenny Rush is joining Doctor Who.

The 14-year-old will play Time Lord’s companion Morris – although the BBC gave no further details about the role.

Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies said: ‘This is what Doctor Who‘s all about, brand new talent from the next generation, and no one’s more talented than Lenny. He joins the TARDIS team just in time for the Doctor’s greatest nightmare, so hold on tight.’

Announcing the news, the BBC tweeted a picture of Rush smartly dressed in suit and bow-tie, and riding a Segway.

He said: ‘It’s an absolute honour to be part of Doctor Who, one of the most iconic shows on television and wow what a dream come true.’

The actor won the Bafta for best male performance in a comedy show last month for playing Ollie, the son of Daisy May Cooper’s character. in the hit BBC comedy. His other credits include  A Christmas Carol and Dodger.

Doctor Who returns in November 2023 with three special episodes with David Tennant reprising the title role. Ncuti Gatwa takes over as the  Fifteenth Doctor at Christmas.
