Hypothetical dropped after four series

End of the line for Josh Widdicombe and James Acaster's panel show

Josh Widdicombe and James Acaster's panel show Hypothetical has been cancelled after four series

The Dave channel says it will not be renewing the show which has run for 32 episodes since 2019.

A  spokesperson for parent company UKTV confirmed the news, saying: 'We are proud to have brought four series of Hypothetical to Dave but can confirm it is not returning for another series.

'It was hugely enjoyable working with James and Josh, and the team at Hat Trick to bring this panel show to life for the last few years.

'Hypothetical provided us with an opportunity to work with the biggest names in comedy, offer a platform for up and coming talent and create a hit podcast spinoff and we look forward to finding new opportunities to work with the team in the future.’

Widdicombe created the format with fellow comics Tom Craine and Matthew Crosby, while guests over the years included Romesh Ranganathan, Dara O Briain, Sara Pascoe and Nish Kumar.
