Bill Bailey's a ramblin' man
Bill Bailey is making a new TV show in which he rambles from pub to pub around the UK countryside
In each episode of Perfect Pub Walks he will be joined by a different celebrity, including Paul Merton.
Four instalments have been ordered for More4, The Sun reports, variously set in the Peak District, Dorset, Somerset and Suffolk.
Bailey is a keen rambler and just last week visited the Lake District.
Last year he hiked 100 miles from Bude in Cornwall to Combe Martin in Devon with friends including Lee Mack in memory of Sean Lock, raising £112,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. And in 2017 he walked the Ridgeway in Dorset in memory of his mother Madry.
With its focus on gentle pursuits in the countryside, Perfect Pub Walks is already inviting comparisons with Gone Fishing With Bob Mortimer And Paul Whitehoue, which proved an unexpected hit for BBC Two.
In January, Bailey spoke about how his friendship with Lock developed while rambling, saying: ‘When you're talking to someone on a walk they're facing the same way. Strolling along, chatting about difficult subjects, is easier than having a sit-down chat about it.’
Bailey previously featured in Channel 4’s Walks With My Dog, below, rambling in the Lake District and on Exmoor.
