Filming starts on Big Boys series 2
Filming has begun on the second series of acclaimed Channel 4 comedy Big Boys.
Dylan Llewellyn returns as Jack – the sweet, shy and newly-out character based on a younger version of writer Jack Rooke – with Jon Pointing as the boisterous, laddish Danny, who is his unlikely best friend.
Series two is set in Jack’s second year of Brent University in 2014, where he deals with virginity hang-ups, drug experimentation and an obsession with Alison Hammond – as well as the pressure of his degree.
Also returning are Camille Coduri, Katy Wix, Izuka Hoyle, Olisa Odele, Harriett Webb and Annette Badland.
Rooke – who also narrates the series – said: ‘Big Boys will start second year even dafter, sillier and bigger than before. As I speak, I am watching Katy Wix in an orange polo shirt with a cheeky VK in one hand and a huge foam finger on the other. It is a dream come true.’
The series, made by Roughcut, was nominated for four Baftas earlier this year – for best scripted comedy, for Pointing as best comedy actor, and for Rooke as best writer and for an emerging talent award.
Big Boys is based on Rooke’s live comedy shows Good Grief, Happy Hour and Love Letters.
