BBC signs up Colin From Accounts

Australian romcom series to air later this year

BBC Two has bought the rights to the Australian romcom series Colin From Accounts.

The eight-part series stars  its creators Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer as two single people who are brought together by a car accident and an injured dog.

The couple – Ashley and Gordon – are  described as ‘flawed, funny people who choose each other after being brave enough to show their true selves, scars and all, as they navigate life together’.

It launched  on Australian streaming service Binge in December to four-star reviews from  The Sydney Morning Herald  and Guardian Australia.

Sue Deeks, head of BBC programme acquisition, says: ‘Laugh-out-loud funny, warm and so relatable, Colin From Accounts is simply pure enjoyment from beginning to end.’

And Matthew Downer from distributors Paramount Global Content said: ‘Colin From Accounts has already proven to be a hit with the Australian audience and critics alike and we are thrilled to be working with our friends at the BBC to give it a home in the UK.’

The show will air on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer later this year.

It also stars Helen Thomson, Emma Harvie, Genevieve Hegney, Michael Logo and Tai Hara).
