Mike Wozniak joins Alice Lowe's Timestalker movie
Mike Wozniak, Nick Frost and Angelos Epithemiou creator Dan Skinner have all joined the cast of Alice Lowe’s latest film Timestalker.
The news has been announced via Deadline as the ‘reincarnation romcom’ starts shooting in Wales.
Former Garth Marenghi star Lowe wrote and directs the movie as well as taking the lead role of Agnes, who is reincarnated every time she makes the same mistake: falling in love with the wrong man.
The cast also includes Jacob Anderson from Game Of Thrones, Aneurin Barnard from David Copperfield, Tanya Reynolds from Sex Education, Kate Dickie from The Green Knight and Natasia Demetriou from Stath Lets Flats and What We Do In The Shadows.
Wozniak and Skinner appeared in Lowe’s last acclaimed film Prevenge, as well as the Horrible Histories movies. Wozniak has also announced a 2023 stand-up show about how his great-aunt Zusa made it from Poland to Luton with a war nipping at her heels. (Mike Wozniak tour dates)
According to producers, Timestalker is a ‘thrilling tale of misplaced affection, unrequited lust and revenge’ and a 'hilarious, violent tale that encapsulates the female romantic predicament in multiple eras’.
Each leap takes the story forward a century: from 1680s Western Scotland, 1780s rural England, 1980s Manhattan and an apocalyptic 2080s.
Lowe previously said of the project: ‘It’s so exciting to be working on a grander scale on Timestalker – but with the same crafting of script and comedy improv and brilliant actors.
‘This film is my homage to the most romantic epics. Lavish, lush and overflowing with emotion! This film is going to be shameless. All blusher and petticoats and suicidal lovers. The romantic era we all need a pinch of right now! Romance isn’t dead.’
Timestalker is expected to be released early next year.
