Mo Gilligan to host BBC One music game show | UK version of Jimmy Fallon's That's My Jam

Mo Gilligan to host BBC One music game show

UK version of Jimmy Fallon's That's My Jam

Mo Gilligan is to host a new music-based gameshow, That’s My Jam, for BBC One.

The show is based on the original US show hosted by Jimmy Fallon, which began life as musical segments on The Tonight Show, which he hosts. Games include Launch the Mic, Air Guitar, Don’t Drop the Beat and Slay It, Don’t Spray I

Now the BBC has ordered its own eight-part series, following a successful, non-broadcast, pilot earlier this year.

Gilligan says: ‘It was such a thrill to work with Jimmy and his outstanding team on the pilot of this show - and now we get to do a series.

‘This is such an exceptional format and I’m so honoured that the BBC and NBCUniversal are letting me bring it to the UK.’

Kate Phillips, director of unscripted at the BBC added: ‘With marvellous Mo Gilligan leading proceedings, That’s My Jam will see competitive celebrities facing off like never before, in a series of musical games guaranteed to provide a multitude of surprises and singalong moments.’

A one-off on America’s NBC network last November featured Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and  John Legend and was the year’s top-rated unscripted launch, with 4.26million viewers. Although the subsequent series was closer to 2million, clips have gone viral on social media and a second run has been commissioned in the States.

France also has its own version entitled Stéréo Club.

Ed Havard of US producers Universal International Studios added: ‘Working with Mo is always such a highlight. We had so much fun making an incredible pilot.’

Broadcast details and guests are yet to be announced.
