Comic stars as Dick Turpin in new Apple TV+ adventure

Noel Fielding is to star as legendary highwayman Dick Turpin in a new comedy-adventure for Apple TV+.

The show, whose title has yet to be revealed revolves around the  ‘most famous, but least likely of highway robbers whose success is defined mostly by his charm, showmanship and great hair’.

Apple says that ‘together with his gang of loveable rogues, Dick rides the highs and lows of celebrity — and does what he can to escape the clutches of the Thief Taker General.’

The rest of the cast has yet to be  announced, but the show is being made by  Big Talk Productions with Ben Palmer, of The Inbetweeners Movie, directing.

Claire Downes, Stuart Lane and Ian Jarvis - the writing collective known as CSI and – wrote and created the show, with Fielding and Jeremy Dyson as script consultants.

CSI previously created The Job Lot starring Russell Tovey and Sarah Hadland for ITV and Carters Get Rich starring Kerry Godliman and James Van Der Beek for Sky One and co-created In The Long Run starring Idris Elba and Bill Bailey also for Sky One.

Executive Producers are Kenton Allen, Noel Fielding, Victoria Grew, Matthew Justice and Ben Palmer. Top of this post and below are first-look images.
