Three Welsh Bafta nods for Rhod Gilbert

Thanks to his Work Experience and Stand Up To Infertility shows

Rhod Gilbert has been nominated for three Welsh Bafta awards.

The comedian is in the running for the best presenter gong for his long-running show Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience – while the show itself is up for best factual series.

And his one-off Rhod Gilbert: Stand Up To Infertility has been shortlisted for best single documentary.  (Read our review here)

The stand-up previously won the best presenter Bafta in 2015 for the edition of his Work Experience show when he took on the role of an RAF fighter pilot.

The show has been running since 2010 and in last year’s series Gilbert turned his hand to care work, cake decoration and road maintenance.

Winners of the 30th annual British Academy Cymru Awards will be announced in an online ceremony hosted by Alex Jones on October 24.

Gangs Of London leads the nominations with eight, followed by seven nominations for The Pembrokeshire Murders – including one for former comic Keith Allen for playing convicted serial killer John Cooper – and five for His Dark Materials.
