Comic lined up for Gassed Up with rapper Mist

Joel Dommett is set to appear in the BBC’s new ‘high octane’ motoring show Gassed Up.

The comedian will be one of six celebrities taking on driving challenges in the show, alongside former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas and boxer turned Strictly star Nicola Adams.

According to The Sun’s Bizarre column, which reported the news, the stars were ‘brace and up for everything’ - and the results were ‘really funny’.

Each 40-minute episode will pit rapper Mist against one of the guests, driving ‘crazy vehicles in a head-to-head track challenge.

The Birmingham-born musician, real name Rhys Sylvester, said of his first TV show: ‘Cars and driving are a passion of mine and it's a privilege to be working with the BBC on Gassed Up.

‘I’m letting everyone know, you’re about to experience something you’ve never experienced before. Forget whatever gassed up you think you’ve done in your lifetime because I’m about to take it to a new level. Gassed up business.’

BBC controller Fiona Campbell said Gassed Up ‘promises to be big on energy and, features lots of stunts and challenges’.

It is expected to air in the new year, and the other celebrity contestants are yet to be named.
