Bill Bailey set to front BBC travel show
Bill Bailey is being lined up to present a BBC travel programme showcasing culture around the world.
The comedian and Strictly champion is reportedly set to film the show next year, travel restrictions willing.
He told the Daily Star: ‘I’ve been offered the chance to do a show that would go to every continent.
‘It would be about music and dance. And at each destination I would put on a show using local performers and musicians to highlight the cultural aspects there.
‘We are thinking of calling it Earth Odyssey.'
But if Covid restrictions are still in place he said ‘we will bring it down to a smaller show, touring around Britain instead. There are lots of places here that I’d love to go to for it.
‘I’ve been travelling around Britain for years for gigs. I’ve managed to go all around the country. So I’d love to bring some of that on to a show.’
Bailey is no stranger to globetrotting. As well as his stand-up tours, he visited Borneo and Indonesia in 2013 in the footsteps of Victorian naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace for Bill Bailey's Jungle Hero and in 2011 he made Baboons With Bill Bailey in South Africa
