At the British Podcast Awards

The Kurupt FM Podkast has been named best comedy at the British Podcast Awards tonight.

Danny Wallace presented the award to the People Just Do Nothing crew of DJ Beats, Chabuddy G, MC Grindah and DJ Steves who released a second series of their show to Audible subscribers last year.

The six-part series featured guests including  Matt LucasLolly Adefope and Sally Phillips.

Jon Holmes's inventive Radio 4 series The Skewer, which creates a satirical soundscape based on the week's news, was named best radio podcast.

And Stars In Your Ears, featuring the musical impressions of Jess Robinson, was named best entertainment podcast, with the award presented by Strictly Come Dancing's Oti Mabuse.

Robinson said: '2002 wasn't a write-off after all!

'My dad died three weeks before I decided to make this podcast and throw myself into something. We made this in spare rooms, under duvets, in sheds. I can't believe this. I'll dedicate this to my lovely dad.'

True-crime podcast  RedHanded won the public-voted Listeners’ Choice Award, with Rosie and Chris Ramsey's Sh**ged Married Annoyed taking silver.

Other winners included Louis Theroux, Fearne Cotton and Malcolm Gladwell.
