Comic lined up to join new ITV talent show

Jason Manford has joined the panel of ITV’s latest music talent show Starstuck, it has been reported.

The comic is set to join Sheridan Smith, Adam Lambert and ­Beverley Knight on the panel for the show, which will be hosted by Olly Murs.

He last year appeared on ITV's The Masked Singer as Hedgehog, and has a raft of stage musical credits to his name.

The show is described as a reboot of Stars in Their Eyes, with each episode involving amateurs being transformed into their favourite stars for a one-off performance.

Each episode will see four groups of three people being transformed into their favourite stars for a one-off performance. The series winner receives £50,000.

News of Manford’s involvement was revealed by The Sun, which quoted an unnamed TV insider saying of the signing: ‘He is hilarious and won’t hold back on his commentary about the acts giving it their all on stage.’

Filming for the series is due to begin in the coming weeks
