Eileen Pollock passes away in London

Eileen Pollock, best known for playing Lilo Lil in Carla Lane’s sitcom Bread has died at the age of 73.

Born in Belfast, her credits include small parts in the Angela Ashes movie, Far and Away with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman,  and numerous stage roles. 

One of her last roles was in the 2016 film My Feral Heart, (pictured above alongside Pollock in her Bread days) which critic Mark Kermode called ‘one of the most influential Brit pics of the decade’

But it is for her role as Freddie Boswell’s mistress in 43 episodes of the 1980s BBC sitcom for which she will be best remembered.

Her family announced in a death notice that she died peacefully in her London home on December 19, adding: ‘Your beauty, laughter and loving eyes gave joy to all.’
