Scot Squad wins a Scottish Bafta
Jack Docherty has won a Scottish Bafta award, after seeing off competition from… himself.
Scot Squad: The Chief’s Election Interviews, in which the comedian’s character, Chief Commissioner Cameron Miekelson, spoke to political leaders ahead of the 2019 ballot, was named best entertainment show at tonight’s shindig.
But he had also been shortlisted for Selling Scotland, in which he looked back at some of the nation’s most memorable adverts.
Receiving his award in character, Docherty said: ‘I'd like to congratulate myself on this richly deserved award. I would also like to commiserate with the losers.’

The third nominee in the category, was Test Drive, hosted by wrestler turned comedian Grado.
Meanwhile, Stanley Baxter, the subject of a major new literary biography, was honoured with the Scottish Bafta for outstanding contribution to television, at the age of 94.
The Greg Davies-fronted BBC Four programme Looking For Kes won the specialist factual Bafta. In the show, the comic travelled to Barnsley to meet those intimately tied to Barry Hines's classic novel A Kestrel for a Knave, including the author’s brother Richard.
But Frankie Boyle missed out in the factual category with his Tour Of Scotland losing out to Murder Trial: The Disappearance of Margaret Fleming.
