On the topic of masculinity

Imran Yusuf is to record his first stand-up special for Radio 4.

In Relabelled, due to be taped just before Christmas, the comic will examine masculinity and what it means to be a man.

The blurb for the programme asks: ‘Where did Imran find his inspirational role models? Was it in Jackie Chan, in women out of his league or in a man called Sensei Eric?’

Kenyan-born Yusuf has been performing stand-up for 20 yeas, and was nominated for best newcomer in the 2010 Edinburgh Comedy Awards.  He made a TV pilot in 2012, which aired as part of BBC Three’s Comedy Feeds – alongside the first episode of People Just Do Nothing and a UK version of Impractical Jokers.

He is the latest comic to be revealed as recording a stand-up special for Radio 4, with other shows in the pipeline from Jayde Adams, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Anna Morris, Joz Norris and Rachel Parris.

Virtual audience tickets to watch the recording of Unlabelled on December 21 are available here.
