Covid delivers a knockout blow

Netflix has cancelled the next series of  Glow because of Covid-19.

Production on the fourth and final season of the show, about an unlikely group of female  wrestlers,  had begun at the start of this year, but was shut down when the pandemic struck.

But now Neflix say they made the ‘difficult decision’ not to proceed after deciding that ‘shooting this physically intimate show with its large ensemble cast especially challenging’.

Creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch said: ‘Covid has killed actual humans. It’s a national tragedy and should be our focus. Covid also apparently took down our show

There’s a lot of shityy things happening in the world that are much bigger than this right now. But it still sucks that we don’t get to see these 15 women in a frame together again.’

Star Alison Brie said: ‘Going to miss this... Forever grateful to my GLOW family for changing my life forever.’

And comic Marc Maron, who plays wrestling show director Sam Sylvia, tweeted simply: ‘No more GLOW. Sorry. Stinks.’
