So Awkward actor was Nicholas Lyndhurst's son

Archie Lyndhurst, the son of Only Fools and Horses actor Nicholas Lyndhurst and star of the CBBC comedy show So Awkward, has died at the age of 19.

The teenager, who has played Ollie Coulton in the show since its first series in 2015, is said to have passed away after a short illness.

Reports say he was found dead at the family's home in west London last week.

CBBC head of content Cheryl Taylor said he was "such a talented young actor", adding: ‘  He will be greatly missed by us all and our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends at this time.’

And in a statement to the BBC, Channel X North, the independent production company that makes So Awkward: ‘H e was an incredibly talented performer and his contribution to So Awkward, on and off screen, will not be forgotten

‘As well as hilarious, he was a generous, kind-hearted young man who we had the honour to work. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time."

Archie appeared with his father in one episode of the CBBC show, pictured above.

He also had a small role in Bad Education, as a younger version of Jack Whitehall's character, and made a guest appearance in Casualty.

An inquest into Archie's death will be held next week.
