Beavis and Butt-Head are to return
Animated duo to be 'reimagined for a Gen Z world'
Beavis and Butt-Head are coming back to TV, with Comedy Central ordering two new series from creator Mike Judge.
The US broadcaster says the teenage couch potatoes - who first made their appearance on MTV in 1993 - will be ‘reimagined’ as they ‘enter a whole new Gen Z world’.
Chris McCarthy from Comedy Central said: ‘Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own.’
While Judge - who also created Silicon Valley and King of the Hill - said: ‘It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again.’
He will write, produce and provide voice over for both characters, although no timescale has been given about when they will return to screens.
There are also plans for additional spinoffs and specials under the deal announced today.
