Gremlins strike Mo Gilligan's live Channel 4 show
Channel 4 had to abandon its live Mo Gilligan show at the last minute last night, after hitting technical difficulties.
However, not to be deterred, the comic switched the broadcast to Instagram Live instead.
Gilligan had been due to host the second episode of his All-Star Happy Hour from his London home, promising a mix of comedy, music and games with guests including Rio Ferdinand, Maya Jama, Jason Manford and UB40. However, just minutes before the show was due to go live, he learned that a ‘crazy technical difficulty’ meant the show could not be broadcast.
Update about tonight’s show there’s been a mad technically problem (out of my hands) so we’re taking it back to Instagram live for game music and comedy. Join me in 5mins via my Instagram live pic.twitter.com/hWBvTK2E82

So while Channel 4 engineers lined up a rerun of 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Gilligan decided to plough ahead with the show anyway, telling fans via: ‘The show must go on. It started on Instagram so we’re going back on Instagram Live.’
‘This is what you do guys, you get tested, so we are going to back to doing Quarantine Games’
Channel 4 – which previously broadcast Gilligan’s chat show – was signed up for to make the All-Star Happy Hour after running #QuarantineGames on his social media channels.
Fans watching last night’s Instagram Live event donated £1,000 to homeless charity Crisis, which Gilligan matched from his own pocket.
