With a feminist twist...

 Sarah Silverman and Seth Rogen are to star in a new animated comedy series, Santa Inc.

Silverman will play an elf hoping to succeed Santa (Rogan) becoming  the first woman to do so.

New US streaming service HBO Max has ordered eight episodes of the show, to be written by Shrill and Parks and Rec’s Alexandra Rushfield.

The platform’s comedy executive Suzanna Makkos said: ‘I have long dreamed of a taking a beloved holiday tradition and adding a feminist agenda and some R rated comedy and when I read this script from Ali, with Seth and Sarah attached to voice, I knew that it was a perfect fit for us at Max.’

HBO Max is launching on May 27.
