Major festival pulls the plug over coronavirus

This year’s Latitude Festival has officially been cancelled.

The event was due to be held at Henham Park in Suffolk over the weekend of July 16 to 19th.

Bill Bailey, Jo Brand and Simon Amstell were due to headline the comedy arena, with Haim, Liam Gallagher, Snow Patrol and The Chemical Brothers among those on the main stage.

Other comics due to perform include Jayde Adams, Rich Hall, Kerry Godliman and Angela Barnes

Organisers say that ‘in this unprecedented situation, the health and safety for everyone involved is our main priority’.

'We’ve been closely monitoring this unprecedented situation and it’s become clear that it’s just not possible for this year’s festival to go ahead.'

And they told ticket-holders: 'We are working closely with our ticketing partners and they will be in touch very soon to process your refund, or, if you prefer, you can retain your ticket and carry it over to next year.'
