KEEP CALM - IT'S CARRY ON…BBC Two has been running some classic old movies as afternoon comfort viewing, now it’s Film 4’s turn with a season of Carry Ons at 1.15pm each day, starting with 1959’s Carry On Teacher with Ted Ray today.

BIG NIGHT IN: The BBC’s three-hour feel-good-athon, put together with Comic Relief and Children In Need, features a raft of comedy highlights. Dawn French is to revive the Vicar Of Dibley for the first time in five years; Peter Kay makes a TV comeback, recruiting members of the public to perform a new version of Tony Christie’s (Is This The Way To) Amarillo; Catherine Tate will recreate her role as schoolgirl Lauren terrorising a supply teacher played by David Tennant; and Matt Lucas and David Walliams will as-yet unconfirmed characters from Little Britain. Presenters are Matt Baker, Zoe Ball, Lenny Henry, Davina McCall and Paddy McGuinness, all pictured. BBC One, 7pm
