Mo Gilligan to host C4 lockdown show
Mo Gilligan is to return to Channel 4, hosting a new lockdown gameshow.
The comedian’s All Star Happy Hour is described as ‘a joyful mix of his trademark sketches, viral formats, unique musical performances and hilarious prize-winning games’.
Members of the public will compete against celebrities in a series of challenges set by the stand-up, who has been running a similar #QuarantineGames on his social media channels.
Gilligan has previously fronted his own show on Channel 4, as well as co-hosting The Big Narstie Show.
The broadcaster said: ‘Mo’s high-energy and brilliantly uplifting style makes him the perfect man to deliver joy to our screens when we need it most.'
And head of entertainment Phil Harris said: ‘It’s great to be working with Mo again - albeit in slightly different circumstances to how we imagined.’
He has ordered four hour-long episodes of Mo Gilligan’s All Star Happy Hour, which was announced today alongside a new Matt Lucas and Harry Hill project.
Harris added: ‘I’ve been really proud of how our team, and the sector, have responded in testing times. These commissions showcase great talent, quick-thinking and bags of humour at a time when we need it most.’
