SUNNYSIDE: In this new US sitcom, Kal Penn, best known as Kumar from the Harold and Kumar films, stars as a politician who gets kicked out of office and winds up working for a quirky group of idealistic immigrants. However, the sitcom did not capture ratings or critical acclaim when it was shown on NBC in the States, with the show dumped online only after just four episodes aired. Sky Comedy, 9pm.

FEEL GOOD: Mae Martin’s new comedy about love and addiction, kicks off – with the comedian starring as a fictional version of herself alongside Charlotte Ritchie, Lisa Kudrow and Sophie Thompson. KATE & KOJI: Brenda Blethyn and Jimmy Akingbola head the cast of this new six-part ITV sitcom about prickly cafe owner in a seaside town and an asylum-seeking African doctor. ITV, 8pm

TIM KEY’S LATE NIGHT POETRY PROGRAMME: A new series of the delightfully offbeat comedy, which also features Tom Basden, Katy Wix and Mike Wozniak. Radio 4, 11pm.

HYPOTHETICAL: This week Josh Widdicombe and James Acaster will be posing ridiculous scenarios to Johnny Vegas, Zoe Lyons, Sara Pascoe and Richard Osman.Dave, 10pm

MODERN FAMILY: David Beckham, Courtney Cox and Stephen Merchant have guest-starring roles, as Alex’s company puts her up at a new luxury apartment with a list of high-profile residents, including Beckham and Cox, who play themselves. Merchant isn’t himself, though, but returns as the character of butler Higgins that he’s previously played. Sky One, 8.30pm

Saturday March 21

INFECTIOUS PERSONALITIES: OK, so it’s an unfortunate title at the moment, but this one-of chat show involves real-life doctor and comedian Ed Patrick, interviews celebrities about their medical history as well as their current concerns and worries, starting with Charlie Brooker and Sindhu Vee. It is one of six comedy pilots in Radio 2’s Funny Fortnight. Radio 2, 9pm

ALWAYS JUNE: ...and this is the second! Vicki Pepperdine stars as an eccentric landlady to a motley group of lodgers led by Morgana Robinson, who co-wrote the show with her. The cast also includes Emma Sidi, Janine Duvitski, Paul G Raymond and George Fouracres.Radio 2, 9.30pm
