Remembering Jeremy Hardy
The line-up has been confirmed for a major comedy night commemorating the life and career of Jeremy Hardy.
His friends Mark Steel, Jack Dee, Harry Enfield, Miles Jupp, Angela Barnes, Imran Yusuf, Seann Walsh and Shappi Khorsandi will take to the stage of the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, West London, on March 25 next year.
Gig organisers Off The Kerb said Hardy’s death from cancer on February 1 this year, at the age of 57, left ‘not just a hole in the world of comedy but, also, a strong legacy of championing human rights, peace and political awareness.
‘To mark this legacy, friends and fellow comedians have decided to stage this event in his memory – and provide the kind of laughs Jeremy was so much loved and famed for.’
Tickets for the gig have just gone on sale here.
An anthology of his best writing will be also published early next year, containing material from his 35 years as a stand-up, scripts from his Radio 4 comedy shows and his journalism compiled by his widow, Katie Barlow, and his long-time Radio 4 producer, David Tyler.
Jeremy Hardy Speaks Volumes: Words, Wit, Wisdom, One-Liners And Rants will be published by Two Roads on February 20.
