Mischief Theatre have previously made the Christmas specials Peter Pan Goes Wrong and A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong for the BBC – and have a full series in the pipeline.
The Spirit Of Christmas was written by and stars the founding members of the company; Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields alongside Nancy Zamit, Charlie Russell, Bryony Corrigan, Greg Tannahill, Dave Hearn and Chris Leask.
It was announced today as part of the BBC’s launch of Christmas programming, including previously revealed specials from Miranda Hart, Michael McIntrye, Dame Edna and the Gavin and Stacey comeback.
BBC Two will also air a Christmas episode The Misadventures Of Romesh Ranganathan, which the comedian allegedly only agreed to do on the strict understanding that he would not have to go anywhere cold.
So he is travelling to the Sahara desert, where temperatures rise to 50C in JUly, when the episode was filmed.
