'I can't believe what just happened!'
Chris Ramsey has ended up a very creditable third place on the Strictly leaderboard tonight.
He and professional partner Karen Hauer scored a solid 31 points for their paso doble to Run Boy Run by Woodkid.
And it played against the cheeky-chappie image the comedian has fostered over the competition.
Craig Revel Horwood said that the dance was ‘full of menace and nastiness, uncarin’. But he meant it as a compliment, saying Ramsey was ‘like a man after my own heart’.
Bruno Tonioli said the dance had ‘deadly serious, lethal intent’ but they weren’t quite on the beat.
Motsi Mabusi told him: ‘Be proud of yourself, I had goosebumps, it had fight and strength, absolutely adored it.’
Head judge Shirley Ballas concluded that he did well in places, saying he had ‘good portrayal and characterisation and you had the marching feel, a few missteps but overall executed with fierce intent’.
After the results were announced, Ramsey tweeted: 'I can't believe what just happened!'
They are just one of six couples left in the BBC One contest. Karim Zeroual and Kelvin Fletcher shared the top position on the leaderboard with 38 points each,
