Supermodel Jourdan Dunn joins E4 comedy Maxxx
Supermodel Jourdan Dunn, Upstart Crow’s Helen Monks and PhoneShop’s Javone Prince have all joined the cast of E4’s new comedy Maxxx.
The show has been created by O-T Fagbenle, who also stars as a formerly famous boyband star trying to stage his comeback.
Monks plays his ‘cousin-slash-superfan-slash-stalker’ Rose, while Prince plays his former bandmate Lucky and Dunn plays a version of herself, Maxxx’s ex-girlfriend.
Also joining the show are Law & Order, Oz and Happy! actor Christopher Meloni, playing Maxxx’s former manager; and Pippa Bennett-Warner plays wannabe manager Tamzin.
Fagbenle, who also co-directs the show with Chewing Gum's Nick Collett, said: ‘It’s a dream to write and direct for a cast of extraordinary actors from seasoned pro’s like Christopher Meloni and Javone Prince to new acting talent like Jourdan Dunn. I can’t wait for people to see!"
Fiona McDermott, head of comedy at Channel 4, added: ‘A show we were already stoked about making has just got stronger. A phenomenal cast, we couldn’t be more excited to be working with them all.’
Maxxx will be produced by Luti Media, previously best known for making commercials and music videos for the likes of Drake, Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Rita Ora. It was founded by Fagbenle’s younger brother Luti.
