E4 buys Matt LeBlanc comedy
E4 is to air Matt LeBlanc’s latest comedy Man With A Plan.
In the show, the Friends star plays an old-school dad who takes on the job of looking after his three children after his wife returns to work.
The sitcom was savaged by critics in the US, with one calling it ‘one of the least authentic family sitcoms on TV’ and CNN’s Brian Lowry saying: ‘It's as if CBS has been sucked into a time warp - delivering the fourth-best sitcom of the 1989 season.’
However, the show performs reasonably well for the network, averaging 6.35million viewers over the last series, and has been commissioned for a fourth season.
As well as Man With A Plan, Channel 4 has also bought Star Trek: Discovery for its digital channel.
Barry Chamberlain, president of sales at CBS Studios International, said: ‘Channel 4 is already a licensee for several of our top-rated franchises, including The Good Fight and Charmed, and we are confident they will have continued success with Star Trek: Discovery and Man With A Plan.’
