For comedians 'on the cusp of fame'

Janine Harouni beat more than 180 hopefuls to win the Amused Moose Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Fringe.

She will now perform a two-week run of her show  Janine Harouni (Please Remain Seated) - Edinburgh Fringe 2019 at Chortle.co.uk">Stand Up with Janine Harouni (Please Remain Seated) at the Soho Playhouse Theatre in New York, where she hails from, as part of the prize.

Earlier this month, Harouni won the BBC Presents Radio 4 Comedy Award too.

The Amused Moose People’s Champion Award, based on audience votes at last night’s final, went to Archie Henderson,

Another – separate – Amused Moose award for outstanding Fringe show went to Liam Withnail for Homecoming.

The finalists – all of whom are deemed  'on the cusp of fame' to qualify – performed ten minute segments from their shows at a final last night.
