Titania McGrath TV show in the pipeline

Production company buys up the rights to the woke campaigner

Campaigner Titania McGrath could be taking her woke message to TV.

Production company  Whizz Kid Entertainment have secured the TV rights to the satirical comedy character  created by comedian and writer Andrew Doyle

They are now are in discussion with a ‘major broadcaster’ to develop the series for TV, following the success of her first book, Woke.

The company previously worked with Doyle on Jonathan Pie’s American Pie – a 60-minute BBC Three mockumentary which he co-wrote with Tom Walker, who plays the news reporter character.

Genevieve Dolittle , head of comedy entertainment for Whizz Kid, said: ‘Having enjoyed working with Andrew Doyle for a few years now, we are very excited he’s introduced us to Titania. I had no idea how un-woke I was. I will never ask for a fork in Wagamama again."

In character, McGrath  added: ‘I don’t give quotes to the press because they are complicit in the perpetuation of male power.  Intersectional feminists transcend the need for the written word, which is why we don’t often make sense.’

McGrath is making her debut at the Edinburgh Fringe next week, played by comedy actress Alice Marshall.
