Filming starts on The Trip To Greece
Rob Brydon and Steve Coogan have begun filming The Trip To Greece.
It is the fourth of the pair’s travelogues – in which they sample fine dining and trade impersonations against photogenic backdrops – having previously covered the Lake District, Italy and Spain. The first three series were recut by director Michael Winterbottom and released as feature films in the US.
This time they will visit the likes of Assos, Kavala, Stagira, Athens, Epidaurus, Hydra and Plyos.
Six half-hour episodes will air on Sky One next year. The broadcaster's head of comedy, Jon Mountague said: 'What a joy to go island hopping with the incomparable Steve and Rob! Greece is the birthplace of democracy but more importantly the birthplace of Michael Winterbottom’s latest vision, which we can’t wait to share with our customers. Yamas!"
Brydon tweeted a picture of himself and Coogan in one of the less glamorous locations on the shoot.
