Barbara Nice to host Chortle's Fast Fringe
Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Barbara Nice is to host Chortle’s Fast Fringe showcase in London next month.
The show – at the Underbelly Festival on the South Bank on July 1 – will offer bite-sized samples of 28 top comedy and variety acts heading to the Edinburgh Fringe.
Nice is the overenthusiastic housewife alter-ego of Birmingham-based performer Janice Connelly, who previously appeared inPeter Kay’s Phoenix Nights, and is well known on the circuit for her lively, upbeat presence.
The bill also includes Rosie Jones, as seen on 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Hypothetical; TV regular London Hughes; impressionist Josh Berry, whose impersonation of James Acaster recently went viral; musical comedian Vikki Stone; Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Glenn Moore and juggler Mat Ricardo
There is more stand-up from Best Scottish headliner winner Susie McCabe, Adam Rowe, Mark Simmons, Jake Lambert, best newcomer nominees Sara Barron and Masie Adam, Jonny Pelham, Christopher MacArthur-Boyd, Jack Gleadow, Kelly Convey, Saskia Preston, Alice Fraser, Izzy Mant, Jack Tucker and Helen Bauer.
Plus more musical comedy from Kate Lucas, Jenny Bede, Naomi McDonald and Ed MacArthur, magic from James Phelan and sketch and character comedy from Dreamgun and Milo McCabe as Troy Hawke.
