Barbara Nice misses out on a place in the Britain's Got Talent final

Barbara Nice failed to make it though to the final of  Britain's Got Talent semi-final tonight

The Stockport housewife –  the comedy alter-ego of Janice Connolly – didn't make the top three on audience votes, so was sent home.

She won praise from judges for her routine, teaching the audience  dance moves before her trademark stage dive. However, opinion was more divided on Twitter, with some viewers likening her appearance to 'like something out of a bad bar abroad' but others calling her a 'legend'.

Magician X won the audience vote, with death-defying fellow magician Jonathan Goodwin and dancers Libby and Charlie also making the final three. The judges were split on which of those should make it though, so it went down to the second place in the audience vote, which spelled success for Goodwin.

As an actress, Birmingham-based Connolly has appeared in Phoenix Nights as Holy Mary – and in 2017 was awarded a British Empire Medal for running the group Women And Theatre.

Earlier in the week, Kojo Anim won his semi-final, making him the only straight stand-up in Sunday's final.

Here is her performance
