Mad About You reboot confirmed
Nineties US sitcom Mad About You is coming back.
Original stars Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt have signed up for what has been described as a ‘limited event series, more than a year after the idea was first mooted.
In a joint statement, the pair said: ‘We promise you the same funny and heartwarming show – as soon as we can remember what’s funny about being older. It’s going to be great!’
Hunt will also direct the pilot.
The reboot is being made for the Spectrum cable service in the US – which means only those who have that company as their provider will be able to watch it. And no UK broadcaster has been linked to the revival.
Mad About You originally ran for 164 episodes on NBC from 1992 to 1999 and scooped 12 Emmy awards.
It follows the revival of other comedies from the era including Roseanne and Will and Grace - with Kelsey Grammer also mulling a return to Frasier.
