Amy Schumer reveals new Netflix special
Amy Schumer has announced a new Netflix special, recorded while pregnant.
The comic’s new show, Growing, will be released on March 19 and she describes it as ‘the best thing I’ve ever done’.
She announced the news on Instagram while eating a doughnut and talking about the gender of her unborn child.
She said: ‘"I know it probably seems like I have been pregnant for 1,000 years.
‘What I wanted to announce was the baby’s gender.
But she didn’t reveal what, for some people, is the crucial information, adding that it didn’t matter
‘We are so excited to say we don’t care what the gender is, However the baby chooses to identifies it’s fine, whatever the baby’s sexuality is… any way the baby identifies is cool with us. As long as it doesn’t identify as a DJ.’
The comic has been very open about her morning sickness and other aspects of her pregnancy on social media – including releasing a video of her vomitting en route to a gig.
She filmed the special in Chicago in December, and it promises to include a lot of material about her pregnancy.
Ali Wong has previously released two stand-up specials when expectant, and Natasha Leggero recorded The Honeymoon Special with her partner Moshe Kashe last year. And in the UK Ellie Taylor appeared on the last series of Live At The Apollo when pregnant.
