New short to air on Red Nose Day, March 15

Comic Relief has confirmed that the Four Weddings And A Funeral reunion will air on BBC One on Red Nose Day, March 15.

The short film, entitled One Red Nose Day And A Wedding, was written by Comic Relief co-founder Richard Curtis, who wrote the 1994 movie.

It will feature original cast members Hugh Grant, Andie MacDowell, Kristin Scott Thomas, John Hannah, Rowan Atkinson, James Fleet, David Haig, Sophie Thompson, David Bower, Robin McCaffrey, Anna Chancellor, Rupert Vansittart, Simon Kunz, Sara Crowe and Timothy Walker.

Curtis has said: ‘It's been really enjoyable working out what's happened to all the characters. Now they get back together for the fifth wedding, where, as usual, not everything will go as planned.’

Four Weddings director Mike Newell is also returning to direct this new instalment, which picks up 25 years after the original film.

It follows the Red Nose Day Actually short that continued the story of Love Actually that was released for the 2017  fundraising drive.

Separately, Mindy Kaling is working on a Four Weddings reboot for US broadcaster Hulu.
