Jimmy Carr's tour grows to 169 dates
Hard-working Jimmy Carr has added an extra 20 nights to his 2019-20 tour, Terribly Funny, bringing the total number of gigs up to a mammoth 169.
The new show follows in from his similarly long-running Best Of… tour which was seen by more than 500,000 people worldwide.
Publicity blurb for Terribly Funny warns that the content might be offensive, and attempts to head off any outrage before it arises.
It says: ‘The new show contains jokes about all kinds of terrible things. Terrible things that might have affected you or people you know and love. But they’re Just Jokes - they are not the terrible things. Jokes are little lies. Nothing more than wonderful, funny, joyful tricks, constructed from language.
‘Jimmy will be telling jokes to an adult paying audience who’ve got a good idea what’s in store. And there’s no point to the show, save for to make the audience laugh. Having political correctness at a comedy show is like having health and safety at a rodeo. Now you’ve been warned, enjoy the laughs.’
Terribly Funny kicks off in May, with dates spreading as far as autumn 2020. The full schedule is here.
Tickets for new dates go on sale via Ticketmaster from 10am tomorrow then on general sale on Friday.
