BBC picks up topical Romesh Ranganathan show

The Ranganation heads to BBC Two

BBC Two has  commissioned a new topical show from Romesh Ranganathan 

The Ranganation features a focus group of 25 people – including the comedian’s mother Shanthi – who will discuss the week’s news.

He'll also be joined by fellow comedians and expert guests to explore how current events affect the panel.

BBC Two controller Patrick Holland called it an ‘hilarious new opinionated studio show’.

The commission follows a successful pilot earlier this year.

BBC Two has also just ordered a second series of The Misadventures Of Romesh Ranganathan, while his memoirs are out in October, He is also making a new sitcom, The Reluctant Landlord for Sky and will appear in the new BBC One pilot 'king Gary – as well as his existing roles hosting Judge Romesh on Dave, and being a regular panellist on A League Of Their Own.

The Ranganation is a Zeppotron production for BBC Two. Ruth Phillips is the executive producer for Zeppotron. It was commissioned by Hollan and Kate Phillips, controller of entertainment commissioning. The BBC commissioning editor is Ruby Kuraishe.
