Channel 4 greenlights Mo Gilligan show
Channel 4 has picked up comedian Mo Gilligan’s show for a full series.
The commission of six episodes of Mo’s Show follows a successful, non-broadcast pilot earlier this year.
It will feature stand-up, sketches and regular features and will air next year in a 10pm slot.
Gilligan said; ‘I used to walk past Channel 4 on the way to school, now I’m extremely happy to have my very own show on a channel that pioneers original comedy.’
Commissioning editor Syeda Irtizaali previously said of the comic: ‘His high-octane style, comedic instincts and total understanding of his audience is reflected brilliantly in the very inventive, very funny and thoroughly modern show He is an astonishing talent and we are thrilled to have him on the channel.’
Channel 4 has also ordered a second series of The Big Narstie Show, which Gilligan co-hosts with the grime MC.
The rapper said: ‘If you thought the first series was gassed this ones gonna be majorly gassed with some intergalactic flavours with base.’
Channel 4 announced the commissions as the Edinburgh Television Festival kicks off today.
