Films To Be Buried With

In this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and movies. Now comic Brett Goldstein's has combined he two in a podcast which imagines his guests have died, then asks them to reminisce about the films they watched in their lifetime.

They start by imagining the manner of their death, and the conversation can drift into deep topics, but Goldstein always keeps it light.

The latest episodes features Nish Kumar (who will end up dead because of a podcast, ironically) and they touch on existential horror, insane Hindi movies and how difficult it can be to separate art from the artist, in light of recent revelations.

Episodes featuring James Acaster and Katherine Ryan are already live, too.

Mankind

It's a bit of a well-worn premise, but sketch group BEASTS offer their take on the premise of an  ageing boyband trying to give it one last crack at the big time in their new mockumentary. The team of Ciaran Dowd, James McNicholas, Owen Roberts and Ryan O'Donnell are joined in Manband by the Birthday Girls and Sam Pamphilon in cameo roles.

The 20-minute film is directed by Matt Roberts and was released on YouTube this week:

Kath And Kim

Netflix has added the whole back catalogue of this slice of Australian suburbia to its offering, including all six TV series, and the feature-length specials, Da Kath & Kim Code from 2005 and Kath & Kimderella from 2012. With well-observed but exaggerated charcaters he show captured the imagination of audiences down under and made stars of its creators Jane Turner and Gina Riley as well as their co-stars Glenn Robbins and Magda Szubanski.

Live At The BBC

New York's Desiree Burch has had to pull out of the Fringe, but you can see her no-holds-barred performance, exploring  sex, relationships, race, body image and social change, in the latest of these stand-up specials. Watch here

Iliza Shlesinger: Elder Millennial

In this week's Netflix special, the 35-year-old jokes about dating, the differences between men and women, and the primitive technology she still remembers. It's fairly safe ground, which has led to a  muted critical reaction, but it definitely scores high on relatability, if that's what you're looking for in your stand-up.

Jake Yapp's Media Circus

In this new Radio 4 series, comedian and commentator Jake Yapp turns his satirical eye to the media, starting with daytime TV – and why he finds so much of it unwatchable.
