Channel 4 pilots The Bridget Christie Television Programme

Stand-up, sketch and 'reinvented archive’

Bridget Christie is piloting a new show for Channel 4.

Simply called The Bridget Christie Television Programme, it is described as an ‘innovative format that takes in stand-up, monologues, sketches and reinvented archive’.

It will be the first ever TV show from the comedian, who won the 2013 Edinburgh Comedy Award for her show A Bic For Her.

Her comedy special, Stand Up For Her, was released on Netflix in 2016 and she has appeared in other shows such as Room 101 and The Alternative Comedy Experience. She also recorded two shows for Radio 4: Utopia and Bridget Christie Minds The Gap, which ran for two series.

Christie has previously spoken about developing a sitcom for Channel 4, too, about an  'outsider' central character who moves back to Gloucester – where the comic is from – to live with her father.

The stand-up sections of The Bridget Christie Television Programme are to be recorded in the round at Questors Theatre in Ealing, West London, on July 23.

There will be two performances, at 7pm and 9pm, and free audience tickets are available from Standing Room Only.
