BBC orders bus-based sitcom

New comedy for kids

The BBC has commissioned a sitcom set entirely on a school bus.

Called simply School Bus, the show revolves around 12-year-old Noah Beckett and the time he spends with his peers going to and from school.

The bus is divided into three sections - the popular kids at the back, ‘the inbetweeners’ in the middle, and the well-behaved kids at the front - and Noah is very much the boy in the centre

School Bus was written by Dominic and John Reynolds, and will air on CBBC.

It is one of several children's commissioned announced by the BBC today.

Among them, magician Chris Cox will host a digital series called Boggled, with tricks involving characters from other CBBC programmes.

And school-based comedy-drama 40CC will return for an eighth series in 2019.
