Comedy stars are coming to the Prom
Dara O Briain, Rachel Parris, Marcus Brigstocke, Nina Conti, Angelos Epithemiou and Lazy Susan have joined the cast of the biggest comedy show at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
Max & Ivan – who previously launched The Wrestling at the festival – are this year staging a one-off, site-specific show called Prom Night, based on a 1950s American High School.
O Briain is to play the principal of Assembly High; Conti will be a former school mascot in her monkey outfit; sketch duo Lazy Susan are the two sole members of the drama club; and Epithemiou (Dan Renton Skinner) will be the council noise inspector intent on shutting down the party. Parris and Brigstocke are among the guest singers
These comedians join the previously announced Jason Byrne as Assembly High’s current mascot, ‘Alfie the Ass’; and Kieran Hodgson as the choral scholar. Adam Riches, aka Coach Coach of rival school Pleasance High, may make an appearance, even though he has been strictly banned from the event.
Prom Night takes place on Friday August 24, with audiences invited to dress-up in 1950s style.
